Mini Folio

We are really enjoying our time off. While we're not taking any big trips this summer, we're managing to squeeze in lots of fun day trips and such. Not too long ago, we visited Washington, DC for the day with Ryan's 5th grade class. I knew I wanted to create a little mini project to remember the day. I came up with this little folio of photos and I love how it turned out.

I started with a pieceof white cardstock which I cut to 7 by 6.25 inches. I folded the bottom 2 inches up to create the pockets. Then, I scored it at the 3.25 and 3.75 marks to create the spine in the middle. Finally, I stitched the ends shut to keep everything from falling out.

I added the little tag and sticker to the inside pocket.

Then, I used cards from the Gossamer Blue June's Life Pages kit to showcase my photos.

There are lots of goodies from Chic Tags and Evalicious on here.

I stapled little tabs to our tickets and kept them, too.

It was such a quick and easy project and holds all of our memories from that day. I'll be making more of these for sure!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Crate Open Road Stationery Gift Set

Crate's Open Road collection is one of my favorites that they have put out. I absolutely love the colors. And I love the motifs that are included. But, I think my favorite part of the collection are the flowers. I decided that I wanted to create a little gift set that used them. Since summer is here, I created it with the thought that the cards and tags could be used for graduations, bon voyage or really any occasion.

I started with a box that I had laying around decorated it with papers and chipboard from the collection. Here is the front cover.

And here is what it looked like once it was opened up.

I made a set of envelopes and wrapped them in a paper band. I used an old envelop as a template.

I chose some o my favorite frames, stand out stickers and chipboard pieces to make the cards.

Next up is a little notebook. I covered with with paper and embellished it.

Finally, I added a set of tags. I love the flowers and feathers on here.

It's a fun little coordinated set with its own matching box! The perfect gift.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. :)

Graduation and Strawberries

As you may know from my recent posts, Ryan 'graduated' from elementary school. It's been an exciting yet bittersweet time around here. We are all excited about what the future holds next year, but it was so sad saying goodbye to friends and teachers he won't be seeing anymore.

In the spirit of graduation, I used that theme for my pages in my purple Domino that week. Here's how it turned out:

As you can see, I used a paint chip card for my to do list. These are really fun!

Washi- Red-Queen and Company, Black Houndstooth-My Mind's Eye, Yellow- Bella Blvd.
Stickers- Jolees (graduation themed), Studio Calico (stars)
Pens- Frixion

I created this next spread because I wanted to use my new strawberry clip from the Kawaii Paperie Etsy shop. Isn't it cute?

June Gossamer Blue Spreads

As you know, I've been doing Project Life for the past year or so. I use 6 by 8 albums and really love this size. Usually, I dedicate one spread per week. That's typically what I need. But, this month I worked with my pictures from our Sanibel trip. I decided that I needed more space to share to story of our vacation. The June Gossamer Blue kits were perfect for these spreads! I ended up doing THREE spreads for the trip. It felt great to break out of my self imposed mold and use the space that I needed to tell the story.

I love all of the Chic Tags goodies that came in the kits and used a lot of them on my spreads.

I tired to keep this page simple. I love the white cards and added small embellishments to them.

How cute is that little heart/arrow clip? I love it!

And this page shows my favorite photo of Ryan. My friend Tom took the picture on the Lighthouse Beach at Sanibel.

That's about it today. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. :)

Flowers and More Flowers

Ahh, finally! I'm on summer break. How sweet it is. I live for these weeks and am so excited that they are finally here. My house has already seen the benefits, LOL. I've been doing some yard work and putting in flowers. We pulled out two large bushes in front of our porch. They were dying. And now it looks much bigger and brighter. I got some flowers added cushions to my bench and am planning what I'm going to plant there. I've already been spending lots of time out there. Love it!

So, onto my Filofax spreads for last week. In my Violet Domino, I made this spread using lots of Echo Park Beautiful Life goodies. I made the PL card by cutting some paper and adding the sticker. This worked really well. I think I'll be doing it more often since I don't always have PL cards that match. And you know how I love to be coordinated!

I love the softness of this next spread. I used a lot of Echo Park Hello Spring line here. You can't go wrong with purple, orange and pink.

That's it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!

Cards, Cards, Cards

It's been a fun and busy week. Ryan 'graduated' from elementary school yesterday. It's such a bittersweet time.  we are excited that he's going to a great middle school next year, it's so hard to say goodbye to the friends we've made at his elementary school. I lost it when I went into the office to drop something off this morning.

I thought I'd share some cards that I've made recently. I'm finding that I've been using chipboard pieces a lot lately. I just love the patterns and textures they add. These were all done for the Emma's Paperie blog.

I did this one for the color challenge. I love color challenges because they make me grab for a variety of materials I might not normally put together. As you can see I did some hand cutting, and lots of layering.

This next card is one that I made my mom for Mother's Day. It uses a lot of Crate's Storyboard line. I never get tired of it. I also never get tired of using cream cardstock and doilies!

Mint, gold, pink and cream together just make me sigh....

This last one was done for an Emma's sketch challenge. There's that pink and gold again! And the doilies and cream, too. Are you seeing a pattern here? I can't help it, I just love it!

So, that's about it. I hope you got some inspiration today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Ladybugs, Summer Fun, Flowers and Planner Goodies

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. We've said goodbye to the kids, have written report cards and held conferences. Now, it's time to clean and organize the classroom. But, I am already in 'summer' mode! I was finally able to get out in the yard and do some spring cleaning. I'm going to be putting in my flowers and do some container gardening this week. I love this time of year.

Speaking of love, I have a few spreads to share. And I really love how they turned out. This first one uses some cute ladybug stickers. They are from Darice. They are so fun and go perfectly with my current favorite washi tape - the colorful polka dots. Also, I found some cute bird felt pieces recently and they made the perfect clips for these spreads.

Supplies:
Stickers- Darice (in a pad from Michael's)
Polka Dot Washi- Doodlebut
Pink Washi- Queen and Co.
Thin Washi- Ebay
Card- Dear Lizzy, American Crafts

This next spread uses stickers from Echo Park's Hello Summer Collection. They are so bright and cheery and were perfect in my Yellow Finsbury.

This last spread uses goodies from the Doodlebug Springtime collection. Their washi is my absolute favorite and the stickers are too cute! there's another one of my bird clips!

Felt Bird for Clip- Michael's

Speaking of clips. I just ordered these cuties from the Kawaii Paperie shop on Etsy. Aren't they fun? I've seen a lot of people using them on Instagram and finally got some, too. They are such great quality. I'm using the strawberry this week.

And finally, I wanted to share these pretties with you. I just ordered them on Amazon and absolutely LOVE them. They are the perfect pens for my planners. They're thin, they erase and best of all they come in lots of perfect colors. My friends at work laugh at me because I carry the set around and love picking which color to use. LOL.

Well, that's all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
