Webster's and Unity Blog Hop!

Did you stop by the Webster's blog yesterday? There was some awesome inspiration combining Webster's newest girly line with the new Unity stamps that cooridinate with it. I have been trying to do more stamping on my pages and had the chance to do so with the new stamps. Here are the stamps I used:

Aren't they fun? I love hte patterns, espeically on that diamond tag!
And here is my page. This is my sweet niece who just recently made her first communion.
I used the circle stamp as my jumping of point. I stamped several of them in white and embossed with white embossing powder.
I aso cut a bunch of circles from tom the patterned paper and matted them on white cardstock. Then, I stitched the edges. I arranged them all on the page, adding some with foam adhesive and topping a few with sparklers. I aded my photo on top.

I  stamped the two tags and adhered them near the top. I added some of the new trim to them. I particularly loved this trim on this page because it reminded me of her veil.

I added trim to one of the Silhouettes to make a coordinating embellishment, too.

Adding some stamped images to my page was really easy to do and definitely a lot of fun.
Be sure to stop by both the Webster's and Unity blogs this week. There will be giveaways and LOADS of stamping inspiaration. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Webster's/Unity Blog Swap - Coming Tuesday

It's Friday! And, it's a long weekend. Doesn't get much better than that, huh. ;) Getting ready to head up to school to volunteer for Field Day, but I wanted to share something fun with you. Webster's and Unity have teamed up for a blog swap. It's going to be all next week and will involve lots of amazing projects and, of course, prizes!! Visit the Webster's Pages and Unity blogs starting on Tuesday to join in on the fun! My page will be up on Tuesday. :) Here is a sneak....

Here's a card that I made for Emma's this week. We were challenged to use twine. I chose to wrap it around some Cosmo Cricket chipboard flowers. It was a quick and easy way to add texture.

Hope you're getting ready for a fun weekend. It's Memorial Day weekend here, so we have a few fun things to look forward to.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day! ♥

A Couple of Things

It's Wednesday!  We are halfway to the weekend. This week has been quite busy. I've been up to my neck in deadlines. Hoping to catch up on everything today and maybe even get ahead of the game. This time of the year is always hectic.  But, I'm looking forward to holing up in my scraproom and having a bit of fun today.

Here are a couple of pages that I haven't shared yet. This first one is one of my newest faves. I used a mix of Crate goodies on here. The woodgrain paper is from Pretty Party and the embellies are all from Storyteller. The story behind this page is Ryan being on the phone. That's the newest thing with him and his buddies. Topics of conversation are typically about Skylanders strategies, Minecraft or something to do with Lego Ninjago. It is so cute. Reminds me of the days I used to spend on the phone with my friends when I was a kid.
I cut the title and camera with my Silhouette. The flower was also cut from it. I love that thing!

To make the threads on the page, I cut the paper very closely with the scissors. This curled the paper.

Then, I just rubbed a gluestick over the page and stuck the pile of curls onto it. Once I adhered my embellishments and photos, everything stayed in place.

This next page uses WP new line Girl L@nd. I wanted to use it on a masculine page, so I chose mostly the purples, aquas and greens on it. Jen Jockisch is our GDT for the month, so I was inspired by her style when I made this.

I tried to do lots of layering and adding bits and pieces like she does.

I cut this fun arrow and the polka dot paper with my Silhouette, too. Adding them with foam adhesive really gave them some fun texture. I am addicted to foam adhesive.

That's all for today. Hope you are having a great day. Thanks for stopping by!

Cards

It's a beautiful Sunday morning! Hope you are enjoying the weekend. I worked a bit yesterday but got a chance to relax with friends last night. I'm totally having beach cravings, though. Now that it's sunny and warm, all I want to do is dig my toes into the sand and chill out with a good book. Soon enough, I hope. I grew up on Long Island, where I could hit the beach anytime I wanted to. Now, we are a couple of hours away (still not too bad...I don't know what I'd do if I lived in Kansas or something and had NO access to the ocean) and planning a beach trip is a bit more work. But, I'm definitely going to get myself there soon. Ryan and I did lots of day trips last summer, and we are hoping to do the same as soon as school is over.

So, speaking of projects, LOL, I have a couple to share today. This first one was done for Emma's color challenge. Here's the gorgeous photo that inspired me:

 (photo from projectwedding.com)

And here's my card. I really love how it turned out. I think it's one of my new faves! I used some Pink Paislee and Teresa Collins paper on here along with some pretty Prima flowers and trim.

My next project is something I did recently for the Crate blog. Our assignment was to use the bluebird chipboard as our inspiration. I decided to create some adorable bluebird candies that I'd seen on Pinterest. I made them from blue jordan almonds and decorated them with an edible marker and some royal frosting. I made the tin to put them in and created a little gift card to go with it.

The frame on the lid is one of the metal frames from the Pretty Party collection (as is the paper and chipboard.) I painted it and added some glitter. the little bird was embellished with some trim, chipboard and a flower button.
I used one of the tags and layered on some chipboard and a flower then added it to the card. The little bluebird brad helped tie it together with the gift tin.

So, that's it for today. I'm off to make a couple of cards and then going to hit my Sunday morning step class. It's a good day. :) Thanks for stopping by!

New Crate Paper!

(The Webster's Blog Hop post is below. You have until tomorrow, Thursday, to post a comment for a chance to win one of several great prizes....)

Have you seen Crate's new Lullabye line? It's full of sweetness, vintage elements and lovely colors! I know I'm a bit biased, but I LOVE it all. The entire boy collection is already up on the Crate Blog, but I wanted to share some of my favorite images.

Isn't it adorable? I'm in love with the wood veneers!

I had the chance to play with the new line and made several cards. These first two are perfect for giving to a new baby.

I used the lighter colored back side of the wood veneer frame on this one.
I thought this would make a cute thank you card from a new mother.
And here I made a pocket card with a pull out tag to serve as a shower invitation.

Isn't this line so sweet! The best part about it is that the papers really lend themselves to other things besides baby projects. I'm in the middle of working on another page right now focusing on Ryan at this age. And, the line mixes really well with other CP lines. Definitely a win-win situation if you ask me. :)

Thanks for stopping by tonight! ♥

Happy Monday!

Why is it that the weekends have to go so quickly? I didn't get a whole lot accomplished, but at least it was a nice one. I can't believe it's already May! Summer will be here before we know it. Yay! I'm so excited that flip flops and sundresses will be the outfit of the day soon. :)

Just a quick post this morning to share a fun page I did recently. I used lots of goodies from the Teresa Collins Fabrication line.

I started off making some tags. But, then I decided to add them to a layout and I really like how it turned out.  One of my favorite things about TC lines are the coordinating chipboard and stickers. They were perfect for my tags.
I decided just to add the small photo of Ryan and me and let the sentiments on the tags speak for themselves. I did some journaling on the back of the page, though. I'm not having the easiest time with my baby growing up so quickly, so I reflected on that.
I added a couple of other things - a Maya Road flower, Jenni Bowlin chipboard heart and some Thickers. You can see the entire supply list HERE.

Just one more thing. Webster's is releasing their mid season release this week! Check out this ad:

See anything you like?? (hint, hint)

At Nine...

Well, this week certainly flew by. Can't say I got much accomplished, aside from work, but at least the weekend will be upon us soon. Tomorrow is my niece's first communion. Ryan made his a year ago this month, and I still hadn't taken his portrait. My mother in law is ready to disown me. She has the wall of Communtion photos on her living room wall and has been asking me for a year to bring her one of Ryan. So, this past Sunday, I finally obliged. Now, my son is not the easiest person to get up and out the door in the morning. (THAT is an understatement!) This is especially true on Sundays when he has to go to religious education class. Well, I decided that we needed to take the picture last Sunday morning. He fought me tooth and nail. Instead of taking him to the park, which was my original plan, I propped him in front of the living room window. I got his suit jacket, shirt and tie on him, but relented and let him keep his pajama bottoms on along with his bare feet. I do have to say that I'm really happy with the final result and thought I'd share it here.

Speaking of my little buddy, I made a page to document all of the things he loves and hates right now. He just turned 9 recently and I thought it would be fun to list them on a page.

I used lots of goodies from Crate's Pretty Party line.
I used the tags as both a design element and for journaling. The stamps are AC.
I used some of my favorite chipboard pieces, stickers and buttons. Even tried out the new little clothespins.
The title was cut with my Silhouette. I think the font is Pacifico. Maybe Lobster. I love them both.
It was a fun page to make and I hope someday he'll look back and laugh at some of the things he hates. He migh still even hate some of the same things. I'm willing to bet blue cheese and artichoke dip will remain there.

Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy Friday!
