My Brand New Filofax!

As many of you know, I've become totally addicted to Filofaxes recently. I remember hearing about them and wondering what the big deal was. Well, now I know! I have always been a lover of stationery, planners, stickers and of course scrapbooking. Using my Filofaxes and decorating the pages definitely merges all of these loves. I also enjoy social networking and between Instagram, blogs and Facebook groups, I can keep in touch with all of the other Filofax Fans out there.

I've been sharing my weekly pages on Instagram and Facebook and decided to make them a part of my blog, too, so I can add more details. I've also added some of my favorite bloggers on my sidelink. If you love using planners, definitely check those out. For those of you who come to see my projects, don't worry, there will be plenty of posts about them, too. I hope to show how I use my Filofax as a means to support my Project Life pages and show a bit of how I organize my supplies, too.

I thought I'd start off with one of my new Christmas gifts. I got this lovely Personal Original in Green and just love it. The green is a gorgeous shade. I hadn't seen an original in person yet, but I am so glad I got it. I have a Saffiano, a Finsbury and a Domino. I really like all of these, but the Original is my new fave. The leather is really soft and smooth and when you open the planner it lays nice and flat.

There is an elastic pen loop on the inside cover. I am able to put two pens in it! They are both slim (slim Frixion 038 and Staedtler) so it works out perfectly.

I am currently on winter break, so I had lots of time to play around in my scraproom and set it up. This is what I spent yesterday afternoon doing...

I got a laminator, a label maker, lots of tapes and some stickers. Of course, I had to order all of my gifts myself, LOL, since DH has no clue what I like. He's just happy he didn't have to shop!

So, I made dividers for my Green Original. Since I'm using this one for my Design Team/Project Life/ Blogging stuff, those are the tabs I decided to create. Here they are right out of the laminator.

And here they are once the were placed in the binder.

Once I got everything set up, I decorated this week's pages. I had gotten a bunch of cute Rilakkuma goodies for Christmas so I used those for this week.

Isn't he cute? I love how I can get cutesy in my Filofax and still keep my shabbier side for cards and such. ;)

Here's what I used:

Filofax- Original Green
Pens- Frixion Slimline 038 in pink Staedtler marker in light green
Tapes-Cellophane Rillakuma (Ebay)
Green Floral, Polka Dot (Bella Blvd.)
Bunny Sticky Note- Ebay

So, that's pretty much what I've been up to the last few days. Thanks for stopping by!

Be sure to visit again on New Year's Day. I'm going to be a part of a huge blog hop which will involve a ton of scrapping giveaways!

Pink Tags

Happy Day after Christmas. I hope you had a lovely celebration. Our's was wonderful. Ryan was spoiled and we all ate way too much. My house looks like a bomb exploded in it. There are toys and clothes everywhere! Oh well. At least I have until January 2 to clean it all up!

So, as you can see, this is my second post in just a few days. Woo hoo! I'm on a roll. Anyway, I thought I'd share a project I made for the Crate Blog recently. I used a mix of the Bundled Up and Flea Market lines to create this pink tag set. I love the look of shabby pinkness at Christmas and tried to emulate that in the project. I think this was one of my favorite projects this year!

I added some stitching to all of them to contribute to the shabby look. On this tag I used chipboard and brads along with a label sticker.
I love layering lots of elements and the die cuts were great for doing that on this tag.
I die cut several cardboard stars and used them on the tags. I painted them with Mod Podge and added my favorite color glitter - Platinum!
The little ice skater looked so cute layered onto this star!
I love hearts and resin flowers and think they go perfectly with the theme of these tags. You could easily swap out the Christmas sticker for a Valentine's Day one, here.
And here are all 5 tags. I love how they all turned out a bit differently from each other, yet they are all coordinated. Which one do you like best?
Thanks so much for stopping today. Enjoy the rest of the holiday season.

Scrapbook and Cards Today - Winter Issue

First off, wishing everyone a happy, peaceful and blessed Christmas. This has been a crazy month with lots going on. To top things off, I got a nasty virus. I'm finally starting to feel ok, but trying to balance work, life and Christmas prep has been a challenge to say the least. As you can see, my blog has fallen way to the bottom of the priority list. But, I'm hoping to change that! On of my scrappy resolutions is to be a better blogger and add more interesting content to my posts. :) Anything in particular you'd like to see?

Today, I'm sharing a layout I have in the winter issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today. I have always loved this publication and am so excited to be working with them! I was invited to write the Easy, Detail, Expert article in the issue. You can see the entire issue here, by the way. Scrapbook and Cards Today Winter issue) It's fabulous!!

Anyway, here is the 'Expert' layout I created for the article.

I had a lot of fun with this one! The papers are all from My Mind's Eye. And the chipboard and cute little tape measure are from Maya Road. As you can see, I used my Silhouette on the title. I layered the title on a vellum pocket that I made and added confetti to.

My favorite part of this layout is embellishments. I painted the chipboard and then added glossy accents to them. Don't they look like glazed sugar cookies??

You can see the other two pages I made to coordinate with this one in the issue.

Well, that's it for today. Short and sweet. I leave you with a card that is stamped with my absolute favorite Christmas quote. I hope you all have a blessed Christmas surrounded by family and friends.
Thanks for stopping by!

November Gossamer Blue Kids

The December Gossamer Blue kits were revealed on Sunday. They are wonderful. I love the colors this month - plum, aqua, pink, orange and teal. How can you go wrong with that? Aside from the beautiful, exclusive cards and paper, there are lots of goodies from Basic Grey, Carta Bella, Chic Tags and Webster's Pages. The mix is lovely.

Here are some spreads I created with the Life's Pages kits. On this first page, I added a transparency and created a double layer for my right hand side page.

This next spread uses just items from the Life's Pages main kit and printables.  I especially love that 4 by 6 card with the triangles and the arrow shaped paper clips.

Aren't the colors so pretty? The top left card is a wood one from Basic Grey topped with a Chic Tags tag. I also love the watercolored card and the one with the three hearts.

This month's Life Pages kit stamp is so fun. You can create little pockets with it. I added photos and tag detailing the story of the night our kitty got out. It was quite upsetting and I wanted to make sure I documented everything that happened and how we felt.

So, be sure to go and check out Gossamer Blue. The main scrapbook kit is equally as awesome. And there are some super cute Christmas themed add ons, too! Lori never disappoints.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week.

Scrapbook and Cards Today November Colour Suite

I am so excited to share a layout I created for Scrapbook and Cards Today's Colour Suite. The Colour Suite goes live today. Summer Fullerton hosts this awesome challenge each month on the SCT blog. She invited me to create a page for the challenge and I loved doing it. The color combo was quite unique. It's definitely not one that I would have put together, but I love the results.
Here is the graphic for the challenge this month.

Here is what I came up with. I decided to use the kraft Studio Calico paper for my background. I knew I wanted to create a page about the beautiful Japanese Maple that sits outside our window. When I saw the deep cabernet red, I immediately thought of some ribbon that came in my recent Studio Calico kit. I added touches of pink and black and just a bit of the butter yellow.

While these color aren't typical of a 'fall palette' they were perfect for my photo. I really wanted the bright ribbon and picture to stand out on the page and they do!

Be sure to stop by Summer Fullerton's blog to see her creation. And stop by the SCT blog to see what the Colour Suite is all about. You can play along with the challenge and win a year's subscription to Scrapbook and Cards today!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. :)

Autumn Goodies

As you all know, I'm a HUGE summer lover. There's no season that I love more. But, I have to say that I love creating fall themed projects. This first little set is a group of glassine bags filled with candy corn. I decorated some tags and added them to the bags. These were given to my friends at work. They really loved them!

I used lots of Doodlebug Designs goodies on here. I really love the thematic stickers and papers that Doodlebug puts out. These are some of my favorite goodies to use on my Filofaxes and they really were perfect for these gift bags.

How cute is that owl? And the mushroom?? The leaf washi tape is some of my favorite and it made a perfect border.

I also love this little squirrel. The layered acorn sticker at the top is another one of my favorites.

My next project is a Halloween card. Yes, I know Halloween was a couple of weeks ago, but just think if you made this card now, you'd be 50 weeks ahead of the game. I used my Letterpress for this one. The plate is from Lifestyle Crafts. I have just recently started using my Letterpress platform and love it.

I added some Glitz Rhinestones. These are some of my favorite embellishments right now. They are large and shiny and so pretty!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my fall projects. Be sure to come back on Friday. I just finished a layout that I can't wait to share. Looking forward to telling you all about it!

Have a great day!

Moxie Fab Thanks! Blog Hop

There have been so many changes, over the years, in the paper crafting industry. I have to admit, I'm not a fan of many of the recent ones. Companies, people, trends, they've come and gone. But, one constant has been Cath Edvalson. I first met Cath when she emailed me for an assignment for Paper Crafts Magazine. I was over the moon excited! For several years, I worked closely with Cath and the PC crew. Cath was always supportive, encouraging and fun. I truly enjoyed all of our interactions. I was lucky enough to have met her in person, several times, as well. She is as sweet and personable in real life as she is online. When Cath left her creative editor position at PC, I was sad, but excited to know that she'd still be around guiding us through the trends of the day on Moxie Fab World. Now, Cath  is moving on again. Her presence in the paper crafting world will be sorely missed! I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. When she announced her 'retirement' hundreds of crafters pulled together in order to honor her. That says a lot. She is an amazing person. I know she has some wonderful things ahead of her.

I created this card today for Cath as a way to say thank you. Thank you for being an inspiration and thank you for sharing your creativity with us.

I made a little vellum sequin pocket and embellished it with Crate Paper chipboard, resin and stickers.

You should have come here from Irit Shalom. Your next stop will be at Michele Gross' blog. If you missed anyone along the way, start with the Moxie Fab World Blog and hop along. Or use the links below for easy access.

I am truly honored to be one of the many who are paying tribute to an amazing lady today. Thanks so much for stopping by and helping me celebrate my friend.

Cath, you truly are Moxie Fab! ♥

Gossamer Blue November Projects

Have you checked out Gossamer Blue's November kits? They are awesome as always! They are packed with Crate, Dear Lizzy, Glitz goodies along with the beautiful exclusives that come each month. I love the colors and themes that Lori put together. Here are my Life's Pages Projects that I did this month.

How cute is that little Polaroid card? I created an add in page here. I tucked the journaling card in a handmade vellum envelope and punched a hole in it to make it an extra little page.

For some reason Blogger won't let me add links the usual way, but if you'd like to see more check out Gossamer Blue's November kits here: http://www.gossamerblue.com/welcome-to-the-store/

I also just finished up my December Memories album using the GB December Memories kit. I can't wait to share it with you. Unfortunately, the kit is out of stock. But, you can purchase some of the exclusive cards here: http://www.gossamerblue.com/product/december-memories-journaling-cards/
Also, I'm one of the instructors for the December Memories class. There are tons of ideas and beautiful albums are being shared in the private gallery. Check it out! http://www.gossamerblue.com/product/december-memories-class/

Crate Paper Fifth Grade Mini

It's hard to believe that my baby is in fifth grade. Time is flying by so quickly. He will be in middle school next year. Ack!

I decided to create a little mini album to document this year. I started off with lots of pictures of the first day of school and will be adding photos of special events that happen all year. I decided to use the CP Maggie Holmes' line for this project. I think it worked great!

I love the little clipboard album. And the polka dot vellum is my favorite, so I started off with that.

The format I decided to use is pretty simple. I created one page that was a label and the next was the photo that goes along with it.

As I said, I'll be adding to this as we go through the year. Now that the Flea Market line is available, I'll be adding bits and pieces of that as well. They coordinate so perfectly.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day. :)
