Felt

I've been working on a few things. Can't post them just yet, though. So, in the meantime I thought I'd post some pics of how I store my Queen and Company felt. I don't have much space in my room, so I decided that I'd hang it on my closet doors. I glued some really cute decorated clothespins to the door and just clip the felt to them. It works great.

And here's my CPS card for last week. That cute little penguin is from Imaginesce. Head on over tot he CPS blog for lots of summery cards.

Have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Kiss the Bride

This is one of my favorite layouts! I just love these pictures. Ryan was the ringbearer in Karen's wedding. He was adorable in his little tuxedo. These are a couple of my favorite pictures from that day.

I used lots of Queen and Company felt on here along with little flower sequins and brads. I went a bit crazy with the jewels, too. ;)

And here is my card for the Pursuit of Craftyness blog this past week. I have a little tutorial up if you scroll down there. I added color to the white felt with watercolor pencils and Stickles. (LOVE those things.)

That's about it for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Getting Back into the Swing of Things

After my wonderful weekend away, I returned home to a craaaaazy week. I had my last day of class (still grading finals), Ryan had his last day of school and I had to work. The house has been neglected and I haven't been able to get into my scraproom. ;( BUT, I did get my issues of Paper Crafts and Stamp It. I'm so excited about the June/July issue. That's my little house shaped card on the cover! Here's it is in all it's glory...

And here is the card that I did for Stamp It! I used a Stampin' Up set called True Friend. The sentiment stamp is Paper Salon. I stamped the flowers a couple of times, cut them apart and layered them to get the dimension.

We are having friends over for a BBQ this weekend, but other than that, we're just laying low. I need it after this week!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Back From New York City

I'm back! Cindy and I headed up to New York on Saturday morning to go to the New York Stationery show. It was such a wonderful three days away, though I missed my two guys a lot. We packed in a TON of stuff in three short days.

The first day we got there, we headed downtown to SoHo and Greenwich Village for some shopping. It was awesome. We hit Little Italy and found this bakery. Of course I had to get my two favorite italian treats...Napolean and Pignoli Cookies. (this was the beginning of my non-stop eating fest!)

On Sunday, we hit the show.

And we hit it hard! We walked the entire floor in one day. (That on top of all the other walking we did around town has left me sooooo sore! Cindy and I figured all of the walking HAD to cancel out all of the eating we did!!!) There were so many gorgeous things there. LOTS of greeting cards and invitations. If you owned a gift or card shop, you could drop some serious $$$$$ there. There were a handful of paper crafting exhibitors so we were able to pick up some great goodiess for Emma's Paperie. Cindy will be posting photos on the blog in the next few days, so be sure to check it out.

Here are some photos of one of my favorite things there. It's decorated packaging tape from a new company called Fancy That! There are so many things you can do with this fun product. Cindy ordered a bunch of it and we will be playing with it soon. Here are some photos.

Yesterday morning we got up and met Cath, April and Wendy for breakfast. It was a quick, but fun time. Here's a shot of me and Cath.

And here's one with Cindy. I can't believe this is the only shot I got with the two of us in it.

We said good-bye to the ladies and headed uptown for some more shopping. This time we hit 5th Avenue and Rockefeller Center. So fun!!!!

I had to get to FAO Schwartz to find something for Ryan.

He is totally hooked on Ugly Dolls so that's what I got him. He loved it.

Finally, we walked along 5th Ave. The stores there are so amazing. I loved this window display at Louis Vuitton. Those are neon lighting tubes. It was sooo bright and colorful.

So, needless to say, I'm exhausted. But in a good way!
Thanks for stopping by. As soon as the creative juices flow again, I'll be posting some new projects.

Have a great day!

Pizza Night

This is one of my recent favorite layouts! I just love bright colors and details and I think this one has it all. Far from a 'clean and simple gal', I am! Anyway, I'm posting it because our pool will be opening soon. We had so much fun there last year! One of our favorite things to do was Tuesday Pizza Night. The local pizza place has 5 dollar pizzas at 5 o'clock on Tuesdays. We'd all head up there, let the kids play and order pizzas. It was great. Of course, Ryan HAD to race over to the snack bar and get his ring pop after he finished the pizza. Pretty soon, it will be time for Pizza Nights again. I can't wait!!

Rainy Monday

Happy Belated Mother's Day! We had a wonderful weekend. On Saturday, we drove down to Ocean City, NJ and spent the day eating up and down the boardwalk! I love that place! Ryan had a blast on the rides. We stayed overnight and took a surrey ride yesterday morning. Then we headed home and went out to dinner with my mom. I don't even want to know how many lbs. I gained this weekend!!!

Here are a couple of recent cards.
The first one is a CPS card I did with the new Crate Papers. I love this Sweet Branch line. The rubon and chipboard are also Crate.

This next card uses Collage Press and some BG stamps. I applied the K and Co. glitter rubon over the stamps, but I don't think it pops enough. Next time I would do the sentiment on a separate piece of paper and apply it with foam adhesive. Oh well!

Hope you had a great weekend, too. Thanks for stopping by!

Tea for Two.

This is one of my projects for Emma's this month. We all used the window tins. I decided to make a little tea tin. I think it would make a great Mother's Day or Teacher gift. I adhered the Crate paper to the tin and then I added flowers from the Die Cut sheet and rubons to the lid. For the card, I found a photo of a tea pot online and used it to make a paper piecing. It was so easy.

Check out the Emma's Paperie Blog to see what the other gals came up with. Lots of fun ideas.

Stitching

Just a quick post for today. One of my favorite techniques lately has been stitching. I went to the store last week and bought a ton of new colored embroidery floss. Love the texture that it adds to projects. It takes a bit longer to do, but I think the results are worth it!

I did this one using My Mind's Eye, Making Memories and Pink Paislee papers. The sticker is from the MM Chelsea line.

Mini Album!

I'm not normally a mini album person, but I decided to do one for one of my Emma's projects this month. I think I'm a convert now. It was so much fun to be able to use lots of pictures from a single day. AND it didn't even take me that long to pull together.

The papers are all from the Scenic Route Lynden and the Crate Paper Kaitlin lines. I love how they coordinate so well. The rubons are also Crate and the chipboard is American Crafts.

You can click on the photos to see them up close and personal!

I definitely think I'll be doing another one sometime soon!
