My Brand New Filofax!

As many of you know, I've become totally addicted to Filofaxes recently. I remember hearing about them and wondering what the big deal was. Well, now I know! I have always been a lover of stationery, planners, stickers and of course scrapbooking. Using my Filofaxes and decorating the pages definitely merges all of these loves. I also enjoy social networking and between Instagram, blogs and Facebook groups, I can keep in touch with all of the other Filofax Fans out there.

I've been sharing my weekly pages on Instagram and Facebook and decided to make them a part of my blog, too, so I can add more details. I've also added some of my favorite bloggers on my sidelink. If you love using planners, definitely check those out. For those of you who come to see my projects, don't worry, there will be plenty of posts about them, too. I hope to show how I use my Filofax as a means to support my Project Life pages and show a bit of how I organize my supplies, too.

I thought I'd start off with one of my new Christmas gifts. I got this lovely Personal Original in Green and just love it. The green is a gorgeous shade. I hadn't seen an original in person yet, but I am so glad I got it. I have a Saffiano, a Finsbury and a Domino. I really like all of these, but the Original is my new fave. The leather is really soft and smooth and when you open the planner it lays nice and flat.

There is an elastic pen loop on the inside cover. I am able to put two pens in it! They are both slim (slim Frixion 038 and Staedtler) so it works out perfectly.

I am currently on winter break, so I had lots of time to play around in my scraproom and set it up. This is what I spent yesterday afternoon doing...

I got a laminator, a label maker, lots of tapes and some stickers. Of course, I had to order all of my gifts myself, LOL, since DH has no clue what I like. He's just happy he didn't have to shop!

So, I made dividers for my Green Original. Since I'm using this one for my Design Team/Project Life/ Blogging stuff, those are the tabs I decided to create. Here they are right out of the laminator.

And here they are once the were placed in the binder.

Once I got everything set up, I decorated this week's pages. I had gotten a bunch of cute Rilakkuma goodies for Christmas so I used those for this week.

Isn't he cute? I love how I can get cutesy in my Filofax and still keep my shabbier side for cards and such. ;)

Here's what I used:

Filofax- Original Green
Pens- Frixion Slimline 038 in pink Staedtler marker in light green
Tapes-Cellophane Rillakuma (Ebay)
Green Floral, Polka Dot (Bella Blvd.)
Bunny Sticky Note- Ebay

So, that's pretty much what I've been up to the last few days. Thanks for stopping by!

Be sure to visit again on New Year's Day. I'm going to be a part of a huge blog hop which will involve a ton of scrapping giveaways!

Pink Tags

Happy Day after Christmas. I hope you had a lovely celebration. Our's was wonderful. Ryan was spoiled and we all ate way too much. My house looks like a bomb exploded in it. There are toys and clothes everywhere! Oh well. At least I have until January 2 to clean it all up!

So, as you can see, this is my second post in just a few days. Woo hoo! I'm on a roll. Anyway, I thought I'd share a project I made for the Crate Blog recently. I used a mix of the Bundled Up and Flea Market lines to create this pink tag set. I love the look of shabby pinkness at Christmas and tried to emulate that in the project. I think this was one of my favorite projects this year!

I added some stitching to all of them to contribute to the shabby look. On this tag I used chipboard and brads along with a label sticker.
I love layering lots of elements and the die cuts were great for doing that on this tag.
I die cut several cardboard stars and used them on the tags. I painted them with Mod Podge and added my favorite color glitter - Platinum!
The little ice skater looked so cute layered onto this star!
I love hearts and resin flowers and think they go perfectly with the theme of these tags. You could easily swap out the Christmas sticker for a Valentine's Day one, here.
And here are all 5 tags. I love how they all turned out a bit differently from each other, yet they are all coordinated. Which one do you like best?
Thanks so much for stopping today. Enjoy the rest of the holiday season.

Scrapbook and Cards Today - Winter Issue

First off, wishing everyone a happy, peaceful and blessed Christmas. This has been a crazy month with lots going on. To top things off, I got a nasty virus. I'm finally starting to feel ok, but trying to balance work, life and Christmas prep has been a challenge to say the least. As you can see, my blog has fallen way to the bottom of the priority list. But, I'm hoping to change that! On of my scrappy resolutions is to be a better blogger and add more interesting content to my posts. :) Anything in particular you'd like to see?

Today, I'm sharing a layout I have in the winter issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today. I have always loved this publication and am so excited to be working with them! I was invited to write the Easy, Detail, Expert article in the issue. You can see the entire issue here, by the way. Scrapbook and Cards Today Winter issue) It's fabulous!!

Anyway, here is the 'Expert' layout I created for the article.

I had a lot of fun with this one! The papers are all from My Mind's Eye. And the chipboard and cute little tape measure are from Maya Road. As you can see, I used my Silhouette on the title. I layered the title on a vellum pocket that I made and added confetti to.

My favorite part of this layout is embellishments. I painted the chipboard and then added glossy accents to them. Don't they look like glazed sugar cookies??

You can see the other two pages I made to coordinate with this one in the issue.

Well, that's it for today. Short and sweet. I leave you with a card that is stamped with my absolute favorite Christmas quote. I hope you all have a blessed Christmas surrounded by family and friends.
Thanks for stopping by!

November Gossamer Blue Kids

The December Gossamer Blue kits were revealed on Sunday. They are wonderful. I love the colors this month - plum, aqua, pink, orange and teal. How can you go wrong with that? Aside from the beautiful, exclusive cards and paper, there are lots of goodies from Basic Grey, Carta Bella, Chic Tags and Webster's Pages. The mix is lovely.

Here are some spreads I created with the Life's Pages kits. On this first page, I added a transparency and created a double layer for my right hand side page.

This next spread uses just items from the Life's Pages main kit and printables.  I especially love that 4 by 6 card with the triangles and the arrow shaped paper clips.

Aren't the colors so pretty? The top left card is a wood one from Basic Grey topped with a Chic Tags tag. I also love the watercolored card and the one with the three hearts.

This month's Life Pages kit stamp is so fun. You can create little pockets with it. I added photos and tag detailing the story of the night our kitty got out. It was quite upsetting and I wanted to make sure I documented everything that happened and how we felt.

So, be sure to go and check out Gossamer Blue. The main scrapbook kit is equally as awesome. And there are some super cute Christmas themed add ons, too! Lori never disappoints.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week.
