What I See...

Each month, the Crate Blog has a feature called Creative Weekly. There is a specific challenge put to the team and we each create a project for it. All week long, the projects are featured on the blog. This month's was to use Chartreuse. I LOVE this color! (Just bought a really cute cardigan, as a matter of fact, in chartreuse.)

Anyway, I decided to create a mini album. I used my Silhouette to cut the pages and decided to showcase photos of things I see on a daily basis at this point in time. Now that I have my iPhone, I take lots of pics for Instagram and these were perfect to use here.

I mostly used papers from Paperheart, Pretty Party and Farmhouse. And I added chipboard from Pretty Party and Farmhouse, too.

I decided to punch edges for my pages and used my favorite MS doily punch to do so. For the inside pages, I kept the design pretty simple. On the left side I added a few emebellishments and then my journaling. On the right side I used tags from the Pretty Party line, a piece of border sticker and a button. I backed the die cut numbers on the page with paper from Pretty Party, too.

So, here are some of the things I see:
My Scrap Table

Ryan snuggled up in his Cars comforter and watching TV in the morning before school.
My coffee maker in the morning and my Peppermint Mocha creamer alongside it.

The front seat of my car on the way to visiting one of my sites. I have my work bags, coffee, water bottle, make up kits, calendar/planner and book on CD piled on there!
My Le Creucet 6.75 Cherry colored Dutch Oven. It lives on my stovetop. I keep it there because a) it looks so pretty and b) I use it at least twice a week. LOVE it!
The produce section at Acme. I'm at the grocery store several times a week!
Pulu. Sitting in one of his many favorite places. Here he is on the corner of the dining room table looking into the kitchen and watching my every move. :)

My gym. This was taken from the top of the parking garage where I often have to park because it's been getting so crowded. I love my classes, though. And the fact that it's 5 minutes down the road makes it so easy for me to get there!
So, that's it. And in case you're wondering, I do see my hubby, too. On a regular basis. But, he hates having his picture taken.  I did manage to sneak one in of him sitting on the couch watching Paladia (live music concert channel) but it came out too dark and I didn't have time to go back and sneak another shot. LOL~!
I plan on doing an album like this every so often. And I think it would be fun to have one of things Ryan sees.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a good one. :)

Happy Sunday

It's a lazy day here today! I managed to drag myself to the gym, but other than that, I've been just sitting around and catching up on some scrappy stuff! I love days like this. I know I could be cleaning, but, oh well... :)

Today, I have a couple of stamped projects to share with you. Recently, Lisa Pace asked me to create some things using her new Pink Persimmon stamps. These stamps are so fun and vintagey. I loved using them!

My first card uses some My Mind's eye paper and some vintage trim along with a doily to showcase the stamp.

I added some twine, a Prima flower and a Zva crystal. Finally, I highlighted the stamp with some Platinum stickles.

Next up is a tag I made. I created the main part of the tag using some Graphic 45 paper. Then, I stamped the image onto cardstock. I inked it with Versamark ink and poured on a liberal amout of UTEE which I then heat embossed. I love the glossy look it gave the image.

The clock was spritzed with Mr. Huey Shine. Also, I dry brushed the vintage button with some paint. I finished it off with some more Zva crystals.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! ♥

White Embossing Powder

Just hopping on for a quick post tonight. This week has been busy, busy, busy!

I created this card set for Emma's last week. Our focus was on stamping. I've been trying to do more stamping lately so I was excited for this challenge. I broke out my two favorite stamping supplies - white ink and white embossing powder. I love the way the white powder makes the image pop right off the page.

I used a variety of the new My Mind's Eye stamp sets on here. I added some MME chipboard on each card, too. Because of the designs, I wanted to keep things rather simple.
This card uses a border stamp.
I used a large image on here as the main focus of the card and used a small border , as well.
And on this one, I used the flower to create the background.

So fun! I think you'll be seeing more stamped cards coming from me. :)

That's it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

And ANOTHER Giveaway...

If you read this before midnight on Sunday, 3/18, be sure to comment on the post below to win a $10 GC from Studio Calico. :)

Happy Sunday! I'm pretty tired. My SIL had a really fun St. Patrick's Day party last night. We were up late and now I'm paying the price. LOL. But, it was worth it. :)

So, Brandin released an ADORABLE video on Friday. The new products are finally shipping out. Check this out!

And now for the really fun news! I have another awesome giveaway to share with you today! You could win a $500 Webster's Pages shopping spree and have your work featured on the blog. How awesome is that??? All you have to do is head over to the blog and read the details. But do it quickly because they will be sharing the winner on Monday!

Here are a couple of my latest WP projects. I used Palm Beach on both of them. This first little tag uses some of the trims in a unique way. I ruffled the orange striped ribbon and made a bathing suit skirt out of it.

I cut the pin down, added a piece of doily trim to it and made the umbrella topper.
I added the doily trim as another embellishment on the swimsuit.
This next page is about how much I miss Maui. I dream of going back every single day! It's truly my favorite place in the world!
I used one of the new Palm Beach silhouettes and a doily.

So, are you in a summery mood yet?  That's definitely the feeling that this line gives me.

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by and good luck with the giveaway!

Studio Calico Giveaway!

March's Main kit at Studio Calico is filled with lots of Crate Storyteller papers as well as the border stickers. I was really excited to break it open and create a couple of pages. The mix of patterns and colors were awesome! And I loved the date stamp that came with it. I'll be using that one over and over for sure.
This first page is about one of our favorite parks. We love going up there with our friends and hiking all around.

I used the papers to create the layered banner below the photos. Foam adhesive is definitely one of my best scrappy friends these days!

I matted the photos with some vintage papers that came with the kit. And I even used one of the post cards they included with an ad for their new lines. See that cute polka dot design? That's it!

I cut the title with my Silhouette. And my favorite part of this page? I have been dying to try a confetti pocket and made a strip filled with it here. I wanted to mimic the zig zag strips so I added a zig zag stitch down the center of the pocket.

I had so much fun with this one!!

My next page is kind of a play on words. I was in step class one day singing along with the Miley Cyrus song (forget what it's called - something about a Hoe Down?...) Anyway, she said 'That's how we roll.' And I thought 'Aha- that's what I'll call my layout about my car! (Yeah, I know, it's pretty pathetic that I'm thinking about scrapping while I work out!) I used the Storyteller paper on here, too.

Anyway, the Studio Calico stickers were perfect to create the title.  I love the dark grey paper and decided to try and make it look like asphalt - you know to go with the whole car and driver theme. I used my white Mr. Huey and spritzed it all over the page.

I created the borders by cutting the stickers into smaller pieces and stitching them together.
The sunbursts behind the photos were cut with my Silhouette and I layered more Storyteller papers behind the pics, too. I even used the glassine envelope that the Amy Tangerine flowers from the kit arrived in.

I really had a lot of fun with this kit! And the best part is I still have a ton of stuff left over. I'm definitely going to crank out a few more things with it.

So. Now for the fun part for YOU! I have a $10 Studio Calico gift certificate to give away. Just leave me a comment by midnight on Sunday, March 18 on this post and you'll be entered to win. Be sure to include your email address!

Also, if you'd like to win the entire kit, head over to the Crate Blog. Details are there for how you can do it!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

GDT and a Giveaway!

Hi! Happy Hump Day! This week is flying by. I'm loving all of the gorgeous weather. I'm wearing shorts as I type this! We even have daffodils. I'm hoping that Spring is here to stay.

So, lots of fun things going on today! First, I'm excited to be the Guest Designer over at the Shabby Tea Room. They are celebrating their second anniversary this week with LOADS of prizes.  Stop on over and check out the challenge.

My card has lots of Crate Paper Heart on it. I'm still loving this line. It's so versatile.  I used an Elle's studio tag for the sentiment.

Speaking of giveaways and prizes, Webster's is having a Shipping Party all week! The new lines are being packed and will be sent out on Friday. To celebrate, there is a different giveaway each day.  Capping everything off will be the debut of their new commercial and a live chat at Inspire Me at 6:00 pm on Friday. Be sure to stop by the blog for details so you can join in the fun!

That's it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Furry Friends

Happy Monday! It's hard to believe we are technically still in Winter. With the time change yesterday, the gorgeous weather and our blooming daffodils, it's definitely feeling like Spring around here. I'm not complaining. Even a touch of the stomach bug this weekend didn't bring me down. LOL. If it's nice out, I'm a happy girl no matter what.

Speaking of happy, here is a couple of page that make me happy. I created it for my GDT inspiration page at Webster's. Carol Monson is our guest designer this month. I love her work and had so much fun creating this page based on one of her's.

This page is about Ryan's continued love for his stuffed animals. He has a HUGE pile of them and would add to it daily if I let him. Beanies, Webkinz, Pokemon Plush, Build a Bear and miscellaneous other friends 'adorn' his room and are piled on his bed.
I used Sunday Picnic on this page. I keep reaching for this line because I love the colors and the versatility of it. You can go bright or 'pastely' like I did here.
I created a banner across the bottom of the photo and cards. I used some WP fabric tickets along with some punched paper pieces, Sparklers, Studio Calico wood veneer banner pieces and Jenni Bowlin chipboard buttons that have been in my stash for ages. (I need to pull those out more often...)
Overall, I really like how this one turned out!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by this weekend for the Cocoa Daisy blog hop. My winner was:
Judith. Big congrats to you, Judith. Enjoy shopping with your CD coupon.

That's it for today. Thanks, as always for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Cocoa Daisy Blog Hop

I have some fun news to share today. My friend, Christine Drumheller - owner of Cocoa Daisy kit club and my former Memory Makers Master's teammate- so kindly asked me to be a part of their site reveal blog hop. I'm really excited for them! Here is what Christine has to say about CD:

"Cocoa Daisy has done some remodeling and updating, making our home a place you want to be. Drop in and see how our scrapbook home is your scrapbook home too.

To help celebrate, we are doing a blog hop and giveaway. Just leave a comment to be entered to win a $10.00 Cocoa Daisy Coupon.

The celebration doesn't end there, we're also offering a couple of promotions for new subscribers:

1.Sign up for a 6 month kit subscription and you will receive 20% off your first month's kit.

2. Sign up for a 6 month kit AND a 6 month stamp subscription and you will get 20% off your first month's kit and stamps PLUS an exclusive Cocoa Daisy Tote bag."

How fun is that? Cocoa Daisy's kits are so awesome! They are always filled with the latest and greatest. And they have the cutest stamps. You can even subcribe and get the stamps on their own. How cool is that?

So, to celebrate we were each asked to create a card sketch. Now, I stink at making sketches. Some people go all techno and I have no clue how to do that. So, you get this lovely sketch done with a Sharpie and some cardstock.

Now, I CAN make cards. So here is the card I made from the sketch.  I used Crate's Paper Heart collection on here. The sticker and chipboard heart are also Crate.

Now for the fun part - a giveaway! I have a $10 Coupon to Cocoa Daisy up for grabs. All you have to do is lave a comment by 8pm on Sunday to be entered.

Crate Fun

I love playing with my Crate goodies. Love it! This week I had a chance to get out Paper Heart and Random and create a bit with each. It's fun to make stuff just for the fun of it. Often, I'm making projects for DT requirements, which is fun, too, but being able to just grab something without any constraints really helps me with my creativity.

This first page uses Random. I think it is and will always be one of my favorite Crate lines. I decided to scrap about my Lenten Sacrifice. I'm a coffee junkie. I visit Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Wawa, etc. at least once (if not more!) a day. So, I decided that for Lent I will only make coffee at home. So far, so good. But, I'm really missing my daily stops. Coffee at home just doesn't taste as good!! Really.

Anyway, I played around with a new technique - braiding paper- on here. The result is the border under the photo here.

Next up is a page I created about the roses I get each year for our anniversary. I love this tradition. I used Paper Heart on here. I misted the background of the paper with Mr. Huey Dewey. The hearts were cut from vintage patterned paper and stitched down the center.

Thanks for letting me share my latest projects. And thanks, as always, for stopping by!
