My Mind's Eye Cards

I recently created a fun set of cards for the Emma's Paperie blog. I love the Now and Then Mildred collection and decided to use it on here. Here's the completed set.

I started this card off by embossing some cream cardstock. I love using cream as a background and it looked perfect here.
I added a couple of paper ribbon banners and the chipboard flower. The gold resin flower and enamel hearts finished it off perfectly.

I embossed this next card, too. My notebook punch topped off the small paper pane on which I added the heart die cut and ribbon banners. A couple of chipboard pieces were just what I needed to finish it off. I also added some twine for homemade feeling.

My last card has lots of layering. I started off with a couple of chipboard pieces layered over a die cut. More ribbon banners adorn this card.

Next, I layered the chipboard flowers and die cut/brad sentiment. I tied a twill bow, topped it with twine and adhered it next to the frame.
I love using a single collection to create a card set like this.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

Easter Fun and Green Gingham

This week's spreads are both so colorful. I had a lot of fun creating them! Right now, I'm still using my Pink Classic for my personal calendar. I really love this one. The leather is super soft, it lays flat and the pockets are just right. I'd love to find it in another color. Here is how I decorated it for Easter Week

Isn't that card cute? It's from Gossamer Blue's April Themed Add on kit. I paired it with the following items:

Washi- Green Chevron (Bella Blvd.), Thin (Ebay), Stars (AC Moore), Pink circles (Webster's Pages)
Stickers- Darice (Happy Easter pad)

In my Violet Domino, I created a fun blue, green and yellow theme. I think this is the first spread in a while that doesn't use pink!

The ticket and star are actually die cuts which I glued onto the page. I always have extra die cuts and they are fun to add to my Filofax pages, as well as Project Life pages. Here is my supply list:

Washi- Gingham fabric tape (Maya Road), Blue Arrows (My Mind's Eye), Yellow Chevron (Bella Blvd.)
Stickers- Simple Stories
2 by 2 card- Simple Stories
Die Cuts- Simple Stories

That's about it for today. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello Today!

Every month, I create a project for the Gossamer Blue blog using the Life's Pages cards. This month's layout is one of my favorites that I've done. I absolutely fell in love with the cards that were designed by Peppermint Granberg in Add On 3. I knew as soon as I saw them that I wanted to create a page with them as the focus. Here is what I made:

I selected my favorite cards and then added a couple of the Amy Tangerine tags. The green one was stitched by me!

Then, I stitched the edges of all of the cards and started embellishing them. I stuck with a pink and green theme.

I tucked a couple of the gold doilies under the cards and flipped them over so that the cream side would show through with just a hint of gold peeking out. To tone down the cord stars, I inked them with pastel pink chalk ink.

This is my favorite card. I added some stitching and gems then finished it off with a heart.

Since I wanted the cards as my focus, and I had a ton of pics, I created little collages in PSE and journaled directly on them. Then, I clipped all of the photos to the card and adhered the clip to the layout.
So, I got the best of both worlds...I focused on the cards AND created a layout with lots of pics and journaling.

That's about it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.

Gossamer Blue April Projects

Well, my wonderful spring break is over. Boo. And I'm back at work. But, at least the weather is getting better. That always puts me in a great mood. I am hoping to put my winter clothes away for good sometime very soon.

Gossamer Blue's April kits are now live. They are filled with bright, fun colors and really awesome PL cards. Here are my spreads for this month...

On this one, I printed my photo on a 4 by 6 card. then  I added some journaling on my two 3 by 4 cards and sewed them to the top, creating flip up pocket. I slid the photo into the page protector and left the flaps outside so they could be lifted up. This is a great way to be able to extend my 6 by 8 pages.

I love the rainbow card. It says "it's not always sunshine and rainbows." This was the perfect card for the story of Fran's emergency surgery.

I added more journaling on the tag I tucked behind the photo.

Here is my second spread...

Again, I added some hidden journaling. I used the ribbon to create a tab on the journaled card and tucked it behind the date card. The kits came with some sweet wood pieces. I added some Prima chalk ink tot he one on this card.

Couldn't resist a card dedicated to one of my favorite Trader Joe Meals - sweet potato gnocchi with brown butter and sage sauce.

Well, that's about all for today. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Hello Kitty and Pretty in Pink

Another week has come and gone. This one was nice and relaxing. And today tops it off. It's my birthday! ;)

Here are last week's spreads. I love this first one. It made me feel so 'springy' when I opened my planner. The cloud and heart washi is my favorite. And of course I love anything pink and aqua. I used some die cuts from Basic Grey's Fresh Cut line on here. The floral washi is from BG, too, as are the hole reinforcers.

Washi- AC Moore, Basic Grey, Ebay (thin)
Die cuts- Basic Grey
Card- We R Memory Keepers (Simply Happy Collection)

And since we are now officially in Spring, I figured I'd use my cute spring themed Hello Kitty stickers. I found them in the Target Dollar spot.
Washi- Ebay (animals), Bella Blvd. (chevron), Queen and Co. (pink polka dot)
Stickers- Target
Clip- Walgreens
Card- Recollections

That's it for today. Thanks for letting me share.:) Have a great day.
