Fall Pretties

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fun weekend. We sure did. Ryan joined Cub Scouts and we participated in our first family camp out. It was great fun!!! We camped at a local state park. This was the first camping experience for us. We hiked, did activities, sang songs and made smores around the campfire and slept in a tent. Or, I should say TRIED to sleep. ;) It was a bit challenging... There was a train track that ran right behind where we were and the train came through three times, BLARING it's horn. It sounded like it was right on top of us. But, other than that, it was a great time. We made some new friends and are really excited about what the year will hold for Ryan!

On to some projects. As you know I LOVE Prima flowers. These next two projects use flowers on them. They are both 'fallish' projects. This first one is a journal I did for Tattered Angels. The details can be found at the TA Blog HERE. Scroll down a bit...

I plan on adding fall pictures and notes aboout them to this journal. Some of our camping pictures will definitely be finding our way in there!
This next card uses lots of fun goodies. Of course there's the Prima flower. I also used some Bo Bunny paper, a TA frame, Bo Bunny stickers, Jenni Bowlin rubon and Hampton Arts stamp.

Finally, I wanted to let you know about a wonderful RAK that is going on over at Amy Tara Koeppel's blog. She lost her mother 20 years ago today to breast cancer. I know the pain that this disease causes as I lost someone whom I dearly loved to it, as well. Check out her blog for a good reminder of how to be vigilant against this awful disease.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by! Have a gerat day. ;)

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Did you know that today is the day to celebrate creativity??? Get out those supplies and start making some cards. It's World Cardmaking Day! The gals at Papercrafts have lots of fun things going on today. You can check out everything HERE.

Here is a card I made to celebrate today. I made it based on Dawn's color challenge. I wanted to post it today because it's a reflection of one of the things I love most about this hobby. First, I have loved meeting so many people online who share a passion for the things that I do. Dawn is one of those people. And secondly, she has created such a fun community of cardmakers who look forward to her challenges. I love being a part of them. Sharing our cards and inspiring others is really at the heart of our enjoying our paper crafting together online. So, to all of you who love blog hopping, visiting galleries and sharing your work, Happy World Cardmaking Day!

My card uses some Crate paper, Vintage Cream, Kraft and Dark Chocolate cardstock. Polka Dot Basics II stamps, some vintage ribbon and a Prima flower. I also used my new Vintage Label stamps. Love them!

Don't forget, you have until October to take advantage of the 25% off coupon code that is at the top of my side bar. Check out the Papercrafts/CK Store.

Have a great day!

2S4Y and Card Patterns

I'm on a roll with my posts this week! Guess I have a lot to say. Ha ha.

Before I share my cards, I just have to ask, does anyone else hate the styles that are out right now as much as I do? I went shopping the other day and UGH! Please tell me who decided that it was a good thing to bring back skinny jeans? And black, teal and purple plaid flannel was ugly the first time around, why am I seeing it again? I lived through the 80s and the horrendous styles once. I don't need to do it again! I feel like an old lady complaining about stuff, but REALLY! I had a hard time finding anything I liked.

Stepping off my soap box now. ;)

Here are a couple of cards I did for challenges this week. This first one is for this week's 2 Sketches 4 You based on Kazan's sketch. My brother's birthday is on Saturday, so I made this one for him. It was really hard for me to stay away from soft, flowery things, but I like how it turned out. I used some MAMBI star stickers, and Jillybean Soup, Bo Bunny, Best Creations and October Afternoon papers.

This next card is based on this week's Card Patterns sketch. I haven't had the chance to play along with them before, so I'm excited that I was able to this week.
I used some Webster's Pages papers, fabric and a K&Co. flower. The tag is vintage and the stamp is Papertrey.

So, that's it for today. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Baby Love

As you know, I'm so fortunate to be designing for Zva Creations. I just love the designs and fun products that Carolyn has. Well, last week she was blessed with the birth of her beautiful new baby girl. She sent me a photo and I HAD to scrap it! Being that I never get to scrap baby pics anymore OR girl photos, it was a real treat. I used lots of Zva swirls and crystals on here. I also used Making Memories, Basic Grey, Melissa Frances and K and Company papers. Those pretty flower stickers are K and Co. I LOVE the colors!

So, huge CONGRATS to Carolyn and her family on their beautiful new addition.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lazy Monday

Ryan was off from school today. It was wonderful! I took the day off and we easily fell back into our old habits. We were in our PJs until noon and we had a nice, slow morning. We went on a lunch date to Friendly's and then hit the grocery store. After that, friends came over to play. Now, lunches are packed and we are ready to resume our new reality...

If you haven't yet done so, check out this POST for some World Cardmaking Day fun! And don't forget the code for your discount at the CK/Papercrafts store. It's right over there -------------> on the top of my side bar.

This first card is based on a sketch I did for Emma's this week. I used some Jenni Bowlin, Tattered Angels and a Hampton Arts stamp. I made the little rosette using some Melissa Frances crepe paper.

I used some Tattered Angels Glimmer chips, glitter and Glimmer Mist on this next card. I added the glitter, then spritzed it with English Ivy, Candlelight, Indian Corn and JackOLantern to give it a mottled look.

That's it for today. I got a couple of boxes in the mail today and I can't wait to go and play.

Oh, and I've been holding in a little secret for a while now. Pretty soon I get to spill the beans and let me tell you I can't WAIT!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!~

Paper Crafts Blog Hop

As you may know, a week from today is World Card Making Day sponsored by Paper Crafts magazine. I explained a few things in THIS post. Definitely check out their website and join in the fun. One of the things I was asked to do was to create a card just for this celebreation. Well, I did that this morning. I wanted to use these sweet K and Co. butterflies, so I came up with this.

The paper is K and Company, too. I created the circles by punching circles from plastic packaging, squirting them with Glimmer Mist and adding clear glue and glitter. It creates a fun watercolor effect.

Hope you're having a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the other bloggers on the Blog Hop. Additionally, if you plan on doing something on YOUR blog for WCMD, you can link it up at the PC site!

Nature's Storybook

OK. Seriously. I could create with Webster's Pages everyday! I love the lines sooo much. They are so soft and pretty, yet, I can make them work with my boy pages. And the colors.... Nature's Storybook may be my favorite line, yet!

Here are a couple of recent pages. This first one is about the rules Ryan plans on having for his kids when he grows up. Yes, they'll be staying up until midnight and will be eating candy for dinner...

This next page pretty much sums up my feelings about him heading to school all day. You all know my feelings about that! Fran wanted to take this photo to document this 'fine' event in a tongue-in-cheek way. :)

I used some vellum and calendar cards on this one along with some Creative Imaginations papers. I added lots of chipboard that I glittered.

Thanks for stopping by. And if you haven't yet seen my post about World Cardmaking Day and the awesome discount that you can receive for the CK/PaperCrafts store, and the un blog hop that is going on, just scroll down to the next post!

Have a great day!
