Bazzill Giveaway!

Happy Weekend! Can't belive school is starting this week. I'm sooooo sad. We have had the most amazing summer and I don't want it to come to an end. I love being home with Ryan and hearing him running around the house and the yard with the neighborhood kids. Getting back to the grind of school and homework is something I'm just dreading....

On a happier note, the folks from Bazzill sent me some goodies to play with AND some to give away. I created this card using their new Beach House paper line.

 While the line is beachy in theme, there are so many wonderful patterns and motifs that work for other things! I decided to make a masculine birthday card.

 I cut the little tags and created a banner with them. I added some star veneers for more texture and stamped with a Studio Calico stamp.

Here is the entire collection. Isn't it fun. I especially love the light colored woodgrain paper in the photo above!

 I used the Card Shoppe cardstock, too. Whirlypop was the perfect blue to go with the blues in the patterned paper.

So, now for the fun part! I have a 6 by 6 pack of Beach House, along with a pack of Card Shoppe cardstock containing all the colors above!  Just leave me a comment by Tuesday, the 28th (midnight EST) for a chance to win.

Home!

I'm finally home! For nearly the past two weeks, I have been a traveling fool. It started off with a trip to Western Maryland for a wonderful family reunion. We got home that Sunday night and first thing the next day, we flew to Myrtle Beach to meet up with our close friends who had traveled there in their 35 foot RV. We spent last week on the beach with them and had an AMAZING time. Here is where we camped. Can you see the ocean? It was just steps away from the camper.

Our days consisted of getting up and trekking down to the beach. 

 The boys had a great time! The weather was perfect every day. We really lucked out.

 Then, in the afternooons we hit the pool. They had a lazy river and my favorite thing was getting into the tube and just floating around. Ahhhhhhh.

 The boys have been friends since they were born, but I think they bonded even more on this trip. They had such a blast!!

Fran flew home on Sunday. Ryan and I stayed and we all drove to Charleston for a couple of days. We camped at a state park and visited Fort Sumter, a naval museum and toured downtown Charleston. It's a gorgeous city and I wish we'd had more time there.

We left yesterday morning at 9:30 and got home last night at 11:30. :(
Now, I have three days to get ready for school. I'm so sad! So not ready for the grind that it will bring...

Anyway, on to scrappy stuff... Here's a page that was on the Crate blog for this month's Creative Weekly. The theme was to use patterned paper.

I decided to use a fun summer photo and the theme song from Phinneas and Ferb? Are you familiar with it?

If you don't know it, it starts like this, "There's 104 days of summer vacation and school comes along just to end it. But the annual problem of our generation is finding a good way to spend it."

I started off by creating my own stencils. I used the font Stencilia and backed it with strips of patterned paper.

I used my Silhouette and cut the rest of the title using various fonts and mixed in some of my own handwriting.

I also used some of the paper strips to create a border around the edges to tie it all together.

I ended up using papers from the Pretty Party and Paper Heart lines. I love mixing lines, especially using the older ones with the newer ones.

Well, I'm off to start the lovely business of unpacking. On a good note, once that's done, I get to scrap again!!!

HI! Just popping on with a fun layout that I made recently. I used Simple Stories paper and stickers on here. The back story for this page is kind of fun. We have a silent auction at school and Ryan won a mini golf trip with the principal and assistant principal. He was so excited. So a few weeks ago, they went out and played. Afterwards, they went for ice cream.

 I used a Silhouette cut for the title card. I finished it off with some stickers.

The chevron border at the bottom, along with the washi tape, is my favorite part. I added some wood veneer stars, too. 



 My photo corner punch got some use on here too. I turned them into arrows.

Shipping Party Blog Hop

Webster's is celebrating the fact that Park Drive and Once Upon a Halloween are shipping this week! In honor of that fact, we are hosting this blog hop to showcase the new products.

To start, I wanted to share a bit about why I paper craft. There are several reasons! First, I have always been creative. Playing with fun supplies is my way of relaxing. :) Next, I want to preserve memories and stories for Ryan. He loves looking at our scrapbooks and I hope to have many more to give him as the years go by. I make cards and tags because I love sharing something from the heart with the people I care about.

Today, I'm going to share a tag set I made featuring these goodies:

I used the cameos from the Park Drive Perfect Accents pack. Aren't they gorgeous!!!

Here is the tag set that I made...

 I wanted the floral cameo to be the star on this tag, so I added some embossing and a piece of cut patterned paper.

 Jewels and a little chipboard heart finished it off.

 Again, I went for simplicity by emossing the center panel and topping it with the butterfly cameo.

 I added a bit of paint to the edges and added some jewels to the butterfly. Rows of jewels also outline the panel.

 I ran out of cameos, but wanted to add a third tag, so I created this one with a Perfect Petal.

People sometimes say they don't like giving away tags because they are too pretty to write on. Recently, I read a great idea and wanted to share it with you. Rather than writing on the back of the tag, tie a blank tag to the package along with the embellished one and write on that. This leaves the 'gift-ee' with a blank tag that s/he can use again. :)

Park Drive Card Set

Webster's Park Drive is such a beautiful line. I love the colors! I got to play around and make some cards with the line and I really like how they turned out.

 I added a new cameo along wiht some gems tot he cut out balloon on this first one.

 This next one uses some of the new trims. I LOVE them.

And this third one uses one of the new charms. I backed it with a stamped image and die cut frame. I layered it over my favorite lace trim.

Poor Neglected Blog

I have been such a bad blogger lately! Blame it on the summer and my lack of creative mojo. I just can't seem to get myself moving. The good thing is that I'm out making the memories to scrap. ;)

Here are a couple of recent projects. First up is a fun page using some MME goodies.

I misted the Studio Calico frames with Pinstripe Mr. Huey. And the hearts were misted with Heirloom.

This next project uses Webster's new Park Drive papers. They are such gorgeous colors. I decided to use triangles as my focus.

 See that trim. It's actually yellow, but I sprayed it with Leaf to change the colors.

 I cut the title with my Silhouette using my favorite font right now, Pacifico. I use it on everything these days.
