Happy 4th of July!!

Happy 4th of July! Hope you will be celebrating it in a fun way. It's going to be a hot one here - almost 95 degrees. Ryan is going to be in the town parade with the scouts. And then we're bbq-ing and watching fireworks with some friends.

We had a really fun little excursion this weekend. We went on an overnight camping trip to Lancaster. The campground was great! We pitched out tent on a beautiful site, right on a stream under a tree. We spent Friday evening and all day yesterday at Dutch Wonderland. It was so much fun! The best part was the 'whoopy pie truck' that visited the campground yesterday morning. A charming Amish couple bring their buggy around (kind of like an ice cream truck) and sell their goods. They had all kinds of treats, including my favorite - whoopy pies. We will definitely be heading back to Millstream again!

I have a couple of things to share today. First up is this card that I did for Color Combos Galore 149.

I used a Webster's die cut paper along with a Maya Road chipboard circle covered with glitter, a Hambly transparency, Pink Paislee die cut and Webster's bloomer.

It was based off this color combo:

My next project is a layout I did for Tattered Angels this month. I used a lot of Pink Paislee 365 Degrees paper. I used a Glimmer Screen as a stamp using Olive Vine Glimmer Mist, to create the swirls.

The butterfly was sprayed with Patina and the letters with Sunflowers. I cut the words from a Timeless Romance calling card and added a Rockin' Renaissance tag sprayed with more Olive Vine. (I LOVE that color.)

The reason we visited Hawaii this year was because we celebrated our 10th anniversary in February. This is my favorite photo of Fran and me while we were there. Ryan took it!

Well, that's it for today! Thanks for stopping by!

Tattered Paislee

This month, Tattered Angels and Pink Paislee teamed up on the TA blog. If you haven't stopped over the projects are gorgeous! I just love Pink Paislee and it works so well with TA.

Here's my first page. The photo was taken from my balcony in Maui. It was so gorgeous there and this is what I saw every morning as I sat and drank my coffee! I used Glimmer Chips and Glimmer Screens from the Seaside collection. I also added some tropical looking Prima flowers.

I misted the background with the palm tree glimmer screen using Patina.

I also used Glimmer Mist on the Pink Paislee artisan elements. (Key Lime and Lemon Merangue) and on the glimmer chips (Lemon Merangue).

Here's another project that I did using some Pink Paislee. It's from the Babyberry Cottage line. I did this for Emma's. The tutorial for creating the faux folded ribbon is on the Emma's blog.

Finally, I leave you with a peak at some Prima goodies. This ad is in this month's Scrapbooks Etc. Everything looks great!! I can't wait to see more. Speaking of more, they will be adding peeks to the Prima blog starting tomorrow, Friday!!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!

Going Green

Have you visited the City Crafter Challenge Blog? They host fun challenges each week. I was so excited when they asked me to be the Guest Designer this week. And I was even more excited when I found out that the challenge was to create a card using the color green. I love how soothing and pretty this color is, so it was easy for me to come up with something I loved.

I started off by creating the background paper using Technique Tuesday stamps-Two Steppin' in the Garden. The sentiment was done with Simply You. It's stamped on a piece of Webster's paper and I added a piece of a Bloomer for good measure. ;)

Definitely head over to CCCB and see what the rest of the team did. :) And I'd love to see you play along. Let me know if you do!

Well, that's it for today! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

Back in the Groove

I think I'm finally back into my groove. It took a while, but I finally found my post-vacation mojo. ;) I created my first official 'Flower Girl' layout for Prima and I can't wait to share it.

Just a couple of things to share today. First up is this card that I made for Emma's. I used lots of Cosmo Cricket Material Girl goodies.

I created the June sketch for Emma's this week and this is what I based the card off.

So, now, I have a few photos of Pulu. We are just in love with him. My husband was the ultimate 'cat hater' before this little guy joined our family. (He conceded to get him only because Ryan really wanted a kitten...) Now, the kitten has him wrapped around his little paw. LOL!

Getting a good shot was hard. Have you ever tried to get a 9 week old kitten to sit still? But I managed to get a few good pics. Here he is...

Isn't he adorable??? You'll see these pics on a page soon!
So, that's about it. Thanks so much for stopping by!

CCG 148

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted anything new all week. Getting back to work, bible school and taking care of the new kitty, was a bit tough! I think we are all are in more of a groove now. ;)

Color Combos Galore 148 is now live. I'm glad I could participate in this one again. Here's the inspiration board:

And here's the card that I made using it:

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background. The lavendar cardstock is Papertrey Ink are the stamps. I cut the damask design from a piece of October afternoon paper and added a Prima flower and pearls.

The pages that the rest of the DT made are awesome! You can see them here:

Definitely stop over and participate if you can.

Thanks for stopping by!

Forever Family

Happy Father's Day! We are just hanging around the house and I'm making Fran his favorite meal for dinner. Are you doing anything special?

I did this page for Webster's a couple of weeks ago. It was inspired by Nicole Pomeroy, our June guest designer.

I had this photo of the family. These are always so hard to scrap, because of the mix of colors, but, I found that the Garden Gala papers went perfectly with it. The flowers are Prima and the gem word is Zva.

Yesterday was an exciting day for us. We adopted a kitten! He's adorable.

We had told Ryan that he could get one for his birtday, but back in April they were hard to come by. Then, we didn't want to get one before we left and have to leave it here alone. So, yesterday we went out and found him. We named him Pulu (pronounced Poo-Loo) after the Hawaiian Pulu Fern tree. We saw them on the big island. They have this really soft, orange fur like stuff on them, so we thought that would be a good name for an orange kitty. He's still really shy, hiding behind the toilet is his favorite place. But, he purrs up a storm and we're all in love with him! :)

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Back from Hawaii!! Part 1

Wow! Where do I begin? Even though posts have been going up on my blog, I haven't been home. I scheduled them ahead of time while I was away in Hawaii!!!

We arrived home yesterday after being gone for two weeks. Usually, I'm glad to be home after a vacation, but not this time. We had the most amazing trip to Hawaii! Ryan has decided we need to move there. Seriously, I'd go, though my mom would have to agree to come with me. ;) It is stunningly beautiful there and the people are so nice. Hope you don't mind a photo heavy post today. I have so many favorite shots to share.I'll try to narrow it down to a few good ones. ;)

For the first seven days of our trip, we stayed at the Sheraton Resort in Maui. I can't tell you how much we loved this place!! We had a reservation for a garden view room, but when we got there they bumped us up to a Deluxe Ocean View room. It was heaven. Here's what I saw from my 'lanai' (balcony) everyday for a week...

And here is another angle in the evening...

Our routine this week consisted of playing during the day, showering in the late afternoon and then heading to the beach for sunset. At the Sheraton is this big black lava rock cliff. Every night a guy came out at sunset, lit the torches and dived off. Soooo cool! I must have taken a hundred sunset pics!

Here is one of the 3 of us...

And here I am. I could live year round in sun dresses and flip flops!

I love this one of Ryan at sunset.

One of the things we did in Maui was drive the road to Hana. The views are spectacular. Here are a couple of my favorite shots...

And finally, just to prove that scrapping wasn't the FURTHEST thing from my mind, evidence that I found an LSS!!

I bought a couple of cute Hawaiian themed things while I was there, but since my guys were in the car, I didn't have much time! ;)

Well, thanks for checking these out. I'll post some more soon!

Aloha!!!
