Holiday Thank You Cards

Just when I thought I was getting back into my groove, I got sick AGAIN!! And, no, I didn't bring this one home from the preschoolers.  It's been running around our whole family. Fran and Ryan ended up with the flu on Friday. I got sick on Saturday and am only starting to feel half human again today. Maybe this is the week that I will get the whole work- home- scrapping- exercise routine under control! Wish me luck.:)

Today I have some fun cards to share with you. I received several sweet holiday gifts from my kids at school and wanted to make them some cards to thank them for their thoughtfulness.  As you know, I'm all about white and doilies these days. So, I added a bit of paper and some embellishments that I'd made and I was good to go.
I created the embellishments using strips of paper, a scrap of burlap, a sticker and a badge.

The burlap strip has a couple of stitches down the center to give it the ruffled look.

I think the colors really pop off the white background.  These were really quick and easy to make and I can see myself using the same concept for some valentines soon!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

My Top Ten for 2012:: Just a Bit Late!

This year has just flown by! I can't believe we are finishing the first year of 2013. Thanks to all of you who stop by my little blog and visit me throughout the months. I hope that you find some inspiration when you do. I truly appreciate your encouragement and support.

I thought I'd end/begin the year with my top ten favorite projects for the year. I love visiting everyone's blogs and seeing what their's are, too, so let me know if you've done a Top Ten post.

Here are mine in no particular order.

This one has lots of Studio Calico and Elle's Studio goodies on it. I love the photos of Ryan in Marco Island, too.

A Crate page I made using Paper Heart. That yellow striped paper is my all time fave, I think.

I think this one was my most favorite from last year. I love the sunburst and the pic of my buddy, Amanda, and me lounging in the warm gulf waters brings back the best memories.
I used my Silhouette on here and love the stars and heart from Studio Calico.

One of my 2013 scrappy goals for the year is to stamp more. I love the stamps I used on this page.
This Webster's page has lots of pink on it. I love pink on boys' pages. :) I made the flowers from some trim.
This was a GDT lift page I did of Carol Monson. I loved making the banner with all of the goodies.
Another Webster's page. I had fun adding the velvet story marker and the bag of confetti!
I have been on a tag making roll lately. I just posted these and had lots of fun with all of the details.
This last card set is another one of my favorites. I love the colors in Webster's Park Drive collection. These were a lot of fun to make.

Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget to let me know if you've done a Top Ten, too.

Happy New Year!

Post Christmas Eat Fest

So, I have been pigging out for three days! Probably more than that if you count the days leading up to Christmas. At this point I'm throwing all caution to the wind and am just going with it. This morning I had 2 Hershey's kisses, a mini Reeses cup and a glazed donut for breakfast. I never eat like this! Oh well, Jan. 1 will be here and I'm going back to a low carb regimen. :) I don't even want to get on the scale.

Today, I have some tags to share. I made these a while ago and never got the chance to post them. I made them with Webster's Best Friends line. I don't think I'll ever get tired of the colors in this collection.

On this one, I used one of the cameos and one of the story markers. They go perfectly together!

The flower on here was orginally cream colored, but I spritzed it with Mr. Huey Dewey and love how it matches.
I did some embossing on this one and added a mini Princess Petal. So cute!!
That's all for today. I am off to go and create. I love being off from work! Thanks so much for visiting. :)

Merry Christmas!

Does anyone else feel like this month has absolutely FLOWN by? I am still not ready for Christmas! Starting a new job right before the holidays has been a bit rough. Then, I went and got sick. And then we went away last weekend. So, it wasn't until midweek this week that I was able to get the ball rolling again. I've just got to wrap and then I think I'll be ready. I'm really looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the time with family and friends.

I wanted to share this card with you today. I made it with Webster's Royal Christmas line. I started of by embossing the paper and then I added some of the wide lace trim.

I cut a card from one of the papers and layered a glass glitter covered star onto it. I topped it off with one of the Christmas cameos.
Then I added some seam binding and a jingle bell.

I love the grey color in this line and how it is the perfect accent for the red and cream.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I wish all of you who celebrate, a blessed and peaceful Christmas!

A Little Something For Christmas

So, remember my last post saying I was so proud of myself for keeping up with my December Daily? Well, that was then and this is now. LOL. I've fallen by the wayside. This week started a new chapter in my life. I've gone back to work full time. I'll be teaching 4 year olds until the end of the school year. It's a great opportunity and I'm really enjoying it so far. (Except for the fact that I've gotten sick - that sucks!) But, my scrapping time has been impacted. So, I haven't gotten any more DD pages done. I am bound and determined to catch up, though.

In scrappy news, this week for the Crate blog, we are sharing Christmas ornaments.  I love making Tussy Mussys for the holidays and came up with this one.

I used CP Sleigh Ride on here and wanted to use lots of pink and aqua.
I fan folded some paper to make the cuff along the top of the cone then I added some chipboard to the front.
Some floral picks and chipboard were placed inside the cone. You can hang these on your tree. Or you can do what I did and hang it on a closet door and have your cat come along and rip it down. LOL.

Here's another project I did recently. I made this little tag set for Emma's using a lot of Carta Bella goodies.

I added a Crate vellum pocket to this one along with an Elle's Studio pennant.

I wrapped all of the tags in this glassine bag and added some BG Aspen Frost goodies to it.

That's it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

December Daily Days 1-8

I'm actually keeping up with my December Daily! I've been having a lot of fun collecting photos and documenting our December. So far, we haven't done a lot of Christmasy things, but it's been fun writing about the things we HAVE done.

I've already shared my cover, but thought I'd post the first few days. (I forgot to photograph day 6. Oops!) So, here we go...

Day 1- The return of Buddy the Elf.
One fun thing about doing this project is that I get to use up whatever materials I'd like to. I'm finding that I'm adding in a lot of Hambly, especially as page dividers, to add some dimension to the project.
Day 2 was about having pancakes with sprinkles. And Day 3 was about pulling out our decorations.

I'm using vellum numbers from Crate's Sleigh Ride for my dates. And I'm adding a lot of doilies in for texture and visual appeal.
Day 4 was about Ryan's favorite decoration - the Nutcracker. Day 5 was about the Christmas Carols he's learning to play. I listed them and tucked them into the vellum envelope I made.

I'm loving the holiday home decor line at Target so I dedicated page 7 to that.
Day 8 was about shopping for our nearby breakfast mission. I'm trying to help Ryan see that the holidays are about giving, not just getting.

I love these Silhouette word circles. I punched some snowflakes from glitter paper and they look so pretty in that top pocket.
So, that's it so far! Thanks for taking a peek. And thanks for stopping by!

Mom Mom's Birthday

Just a simple post for today. I haven't been getting as many layouts done this past week since I've been working on my December Daily. I've gotten 3 pages done so far. Woo Hoo! I'm really enjoying working on it. Hope I can keep up and that we have enough interesting things to do for me to document in it. :) I'm taking pics this morning, so I'll post those soon.

Here's a layout I did last week for Webster's. Recently my mother in law celebrated her birthday. We spend a lot of time at my sister in laws celebrating birthdays, etc. and this was one of our typical Sunday dinners there. I snapped this shot of Mom Mom and the grand kids. She hates it, but I love how happy they all look.

I used Webster's Park Drive on here. I decided to have the banner be the focus of the page and wanted to use the Story Marker on there. I love them.
You can't see it too clearly, but the page was spritzed with Heidi Swapp Gold Lame spray. I'm addicted to that stuff!
I made a little confetti pocket and layered it next to the journaling card. Then I added more gold by punching some butterflies from the AC Wow paper. LOVE that stuff!!
This was such a fun memory and I'm glad I was able to capture it in a picture.

Speaking of Webster's, have you heard the news? Alison Kreft is joining the Webster's family and has created some amazing new designs for them. I'm over the moon excited as I have been a huge fan of her's for a long time now!

Just check out this gorgeousness!! This is the first of two lines that will be released in Janurary. And you can win it! Head over to the Webster's Blog for details.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great day!
