Mini With Life's Pages Cards

Once again, my poor blog has been neglected.  The craziness of the end of school got to me and I'm finally coming up for air. :)

I wanted to share this final Gossamer Blue May project. I just love how it turned out. I used the Life's Pages cards to create this little mini about a friend's shower bridal. Most of the cards are from Add On 3 and were designed by the talented Peppermint Grandberg. I love everything she makes. :)

I created the album using shipping tags which I embossed in my Cuttlebug. I mixed in the cards and added some large Heidi Swapp die cuts. I love having a mix of page sizes and shapes in my albums.

I designed sections, starting off with an intro.
This next section documented the table decor.

Then, I had a section for all of the guests. I placed the photos on the tags and added small die cuts, stickers and chipboard.

Next was the section showing the gift we gave her.

And finally a few parting words.

She loved how it turned out!

It was so easy to pull this together. The cards and embellishments in the May kits were perfect for the theme.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Earth Day and Rainbows

I'm back with my Filofax spreads from a couple of weeks ago. :) Sorry that I haven't been here in a while. I ended up getting really sick after we got home from our trip. Also, it's the end of the semester, so I'm up to my neck in evaluations and end of the year school stuff...

Anyway, while we were on vacation, I (GASP) didn't decorate my pages or even bring my planners with me! So, these are from the last week of April. I missed Earth Day while we were gone, but loved the stickers that I'd gotten for that week. So I used them anyway.

I have to say I love how this one turned out. I used Doodlebug Design for it. The border stickers are so cute, aren't they? They look like washi, but really are long stickers.

This next spread uses goodies that I got in my April Gossamer Blue kits. The card, and die cuts are all from Pink Paislee. I haven't used many die cuts on my pages, but they work great - just like stickers. I just glue them down with a glue stick. The cloud/heart washi is from AC Moore and the yellow chevron washi is Bella Blvd.

Well, that's all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Gossamer Blue Spreads - May 2014

I'm finally posting something new! My blog has been pretty neglected recently. We were on vacation last week and then I came home and promptly got sick! So, I'm finally feeling human again and can get caught up on some stuff.

Before I share my Gossamer Blue spreads, I'll show you where I was. Sanibel Island, Florida. I am in love with southwest Florida and seriously want to move there! Here's a glimpse why...

Sunset view from our room...

 Sunset on the beach...

Lots of lounging at the pool..

Sunset on Captiva Beach...

Views from my morning walks...

The view on our walk to the beach...

Cute and yummy, a perfect combination at 'The Island Cow'...

Captiva Beach...

Riding wave runners...

 Sanibel lighthouse...

Seeing these everynight...

So sad to be coming home. Can't wait to get back...

I'm sure you'll be seeing some of these pictures in upcoming projects. Speaking of projects, here are my spreads that I made with the Gossamer Blue May kits. If you love bright colors, you will love these kits!

This second spread was about the week that we went to Nag's Head. I had lots of pictures and things to say, so I added a journaling page as my insert and a page of 2 by 2 pics of the trip. I love the 2 by 2 size because you can add so many fun bits and pieces!

Well, that's it for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

My Mind's Eye Cards

I recently created a fun set of cards for the Emma's Paperie blog. I love the Now and Then Mildred collection and decided to use it on here. Here's the completed set.

I started this card off by embossing some cream cardstock. I love using cream as a background and it looked perfect here.
I added a couple of paper ribbon banners and the chipboard flower. The gold resin flower and enamel hearts finished it off perfectly.

I embossed this next card, too. My notebook punch topped off the small paper pane on which I added the heart die cut and ribbon banners. A couple of chipboard pieces were just what I needed to finish it off. I also added some twine for homemade feeling.

My last card has lots of layering. I started off with a couple of chipboard pieces layered over a die cut. More ribbon banners adorn this card.

Next, I layered the chipboard flowers and die cut/brad sentiment. I tied a twill bow, topped it with twine and adhered it next to the frame.
I love using a single collection to create a card set like this.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

Easter Fun and Green Gingham

This week's spreads are both so colorful. I had a lot of fun creating them! Right now, I'm still using my Pink Classic for my personal calendar. I really love this one. The leather is super soft, it lays flat and the pockets are just right. I'd love to find it in another color. Here is how I decorated it for Easter Week

Isn't that card cute? It's from Gossamer Blue's April Themed Add on kit. I paired it with the following items:

Washi- Green Chevron (Bella Blvd.), Thin (Ebay), Stars (AC Moore), Pink circles (Webster's Pages)
Stickers- Darice (Happy Easter pad)

In my Violet Domino, I created a fun blue, green and yellow theme. I think this is the first spread in a while that doesn't use pink!

The ticket and star are actually die cuts which I glued onto the page. I always have extra die cuts and they are fun to add to my Filofax pages, as well as Project Life pages. Here is my supply list:

Washi- Gingham fabric tape (Maya Road), Blue Arrows (My Mind's Eye), Yellow Chevron (Bella Blvd.)
Stickers- Simple Stories
2 by 2 card- Simple Stories
Die Cuts- Simple Stories

That's about it for today. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello Today!

Every month, I create a project for the Gossamer Blue blog using the Life's Pages cards. This month's layout is one of my favorites that I've done. I absolutely fell in love with the cards that were designed by Peppermint Granberg in Add On 3. I knew as soon as I saw them that I wanted to create a page with them as the focus. Here is what I made:

I selected my favorite cards and then added a couple of the Amy Tangerine tags. The green one was stitched by me!

Then, I stitched the edges of all of the cards and started embellishing them. I stuck with a pink and green theme.

I tucked a couple of the gold doilies under the cards and flipped them over so that the cream side would show through with just a hint of gold peeking out. To tone down the cord stars, I inked them with pastel pink chalk ink.

This is my favorite card. I added some stitching and gems then finished it off with a heart.

Since I wanted the cards as my focus, and I had a ton of pics, I created little collages in PSE and journaled directly on them. Then, I clipped all of the photos to the card and adhered the clip to the layout.
So, I got the best of both worlds...I focused on the cards AND created a layout with lots of pics and journaling.

That's about it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.
