Summer Adventures Tag Book

As I've mentioned several times, I had the most amazing summer. We did a lot of wonderful day trips, vacations and visits to friends and family. It was definitely one of the best summers I've had! I thought it would be fun to document all of the places we went.  The Gossamer Blue August kit was the perfect kit to use. With the fun elements from the October Afternoon Travel Girl and Basic Grey Carte Postal line, I was able to pull it together in no time. I think this is one of my favorite projects that I've made. :)

I included lots of bits and bobs on each tag. A few of the pages were made with 3 by 4 cards from the Life Pages kit.

 I love th transparencies in the Carte Postal collection and added several of them, too.

 I printed  1.5 by 1.5 inch photos. It was easy to do on my phone using the Pic Stitch ap. I was able to print 6 at a time on my Selphy.

 Here are a few more. At the time the photo was taken, we hadn't done the last few trips. I printed those
pictures off and added them later.

I used lots of gold stars from Studio Calico. I think I need to buy them in bulk. They are hands down my favorite embellishment!

Studio Calico Cards

Hi! Today I'm sharing the last of my Studio Calico Guest Designer projects. In addition to the scrapbooking kits, I also received the card kit and the card kit add on. Here are the cards that I made with them.

On this first card, I embossed the white flower stamp with white Zing powder to create the background. This stamp is so versatile!

 I then stamped it with gold Zing to create the embellishment. I added the gold rubon to some vellum to create the sentiment strip. Those gold rubons from Pebbles are awesome!

 On my next card, I embossed the background with my swiss dots embossing folder and my Cuttlebug. That folder is an oldie but a goodie. I still reach for it all the time. I stamped flowers from the card add on it. The sentiment is from the same stamp.

This next card uses the main kit. I stamped the banner images in different colors. Then I took the heart stamp and stamped inside the negative space.

 I got the idea for the color combo from the pack on enamel dots that were included in the kit.

This next card was so fun to make. The felt ribbon was originally white. I painted it with Mod Podge then added several colors of neon glitter, one color at a time.

More Studio Calico Layouts

I'm on a roll! This is my second post of the week. :) Today, I'm back with the rest of my Studio Calico layouts. I think this first one was my favorite of all. I only used the main kit on it. I also used the digital template. I had never used one before and was so excited to find out how easy it was. I printed it on watercolor paper to add some texture.

The Thickers that come with the kit are grey, so I painted them to match my page. Then I die cut the word Summer and added some of the cute puffy stars.

  I kept the embellishments to a minimum since I wanted the photo to be the main focus.

 This next page is about my new Filofax obsession. I love them! I am keeping one for my everyday stuff and one for scrappy/project life stuff only.

 To make the background I used several colors of Gelatos. Then, I misted over them. I die cut my title, but found it was too bright for my liking. So, I used the roller stamp and some white ink to give it a subtle pattern.

 There's lots of layering going on behind the photos. I love the gold doily most!

 Couldn't help but add a bunch of stars from the Licorice add on. They are so much fun.

 My next page is about Ryan's last day of school lunch from last year. He has been dying to try a Lunchable. They are off limits around here, but I caved for this special occasion.

 I used the roller stamp with clear embossing powder, then added some watercolor to it. Once dried, I punched circles from the paper to make these mixed media embellishments. I used the Word Bubble cut files and used the negative space from them to add the small words to my page.

 My last page highlights the photos I often find on my phone of Ryan. He loves taking goofy Selfies.

 I loved the angle on the My Mind's Eye paper, so I used that as the basis of my page.  I added several strips of other paper on to it and loads of frames around the photo.

 These cork frames are really cool. I love the color and texture they add to this layout.

Studio Calico Guest Designer

Hi! How is it that September is already here. I am counting the days until Memorial Day for sure! School has started and we are trying to get into the swing of things around here. I won't lie, I'm not happy about it. But, I'm rolling with it.

One nice thing about September is that I am the Guest Designer at Studio Calico! I was so excited when they emailed and asked. The September kits are wonderful! I worked with the Main Kit as well as with the Waffle Cone and Licorice add ons. Here are a couple of my pages.

One of my favorite summer traditions is taking Ryan out for Ice Cream for Dinner night. We do it every year when Fran is away for work. Friendly's is our restaurant of choice. This page documents that night.

 I used the Amy Tangerine heart paper and cut it into smaller strips. Then I stitched around several of them and added some embellishments. It was simple, but I think packs a punch on this page.

This next page uses lots of items from the Licorice kit. Ryan and I dressed up as Bacon and an Egg for Halloween last year.

 The little card with the ampersand came from the In a Creative Bubble printables. It made the perfect backdrop for my title here.

 The kit came with a sheet of punch out wood veneers. I loved the negative space of the leftover sheet and decided to use that as a design element. I also broke out my Letterpress machine here. I used the alphabet and the camera plates on the card. When it was dried, I added some watercolors and wood veneers.

Gossamer Blue Sneaks

Well, my summer of fun has come to an end. I officially went back to school yesterday. While I'm looking forward to a wonderful year, I am sad that my 'life of leisure' is over for now. Not to mention the fact that I hate that the craziness of school mornings, packing lunches, doing homework, etc. Oh well. Only 10 more months until Memorial Day!

I have been really busy creating, creating and creating. The past couple of weeks, I've been working on my September Gossamer Blue projects. I am in love with this month's kits. The colors are to die for!
I thought I'd share some sneaks of my project life spreads with you.

This is a spread that I made with the Life Pages kit, only. I just adore that card on the top right. I think it's my favorite of the set.

On this page, I used a bunch of the die cuts from this month. Traci Reed really outdid herself. How fun are those feathers?

 And On this one I used a bunch of the fun Heidi Swapp letters that came with the LP kit. I loved them!!

Pink Paislee Cards and a BPC Accents Class Giveaway!

Today, I have a couple of fun things to share. First up are my last two projects for my Pink Paislee GDT. This first card uses the Luxe line. I'm so loving gold these days. Those stars are just awesome! I added a pop of aqua by misting the word and coloring the gems with a Copic.

My next card uses the Hope Chest line. It is so soft and pretty! I layered some die cuts, trim, another Luxe star and a burlap butterfly together. It was quick and easy and I love how it turned out.

Reverse Confetti Blog Hop

Hello August and Hello REVERSE CONFETTI Fans!  It’s the 8^th of the month –Blog Hop time!  I am so excited to be included in the fun! I have been a fan of Reverse Confetti since Jen released her first sets. Last month’s release was fantastic and today we are inspiring you with projects and cards using those stamps and any other previously released stamps from Reverse Confetti.  Along with the Confetti Crew (the fabulous design team), they've also invited some extra friends to join in on the action! Thats where I come in!

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog, and you should have made it here from Laurie Schmidlin’s blog. It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you to see using all of Reverse Confetti’s amazing stamp sets!

I have several cards to share with you today. This first one uses Arrows n'  Elements. I used a couple of fun new Bella Blcd. die cuts and added some stamping to them. The little heart stamp was the perfect one to create a pattern for the cutout in the little card.

This next card uses the Celebrate Cake set. I was totally inspired by a card made by Betsy Veldman. You can see it here. I loved the idea of the inked vellum circles and thought they'd be perfect with the little cupcake stamp.

 I made this one for my sweet sister in law, Patty. Hope she likes it. :)

On my next card I stamped the solid circle background from Whole Lotta Dots. Then, I stamped over it with the linked circle background. This created the background of the card. I then added some Echo Park stickers and finished it off with the sentiment and banner flags from Arrows n'  Elements.

My final card is really simple, which usually isn't my style. But, given the burst of neon color, I like it.
I started off by using my neon Mr. Hueys in orange, pink and yellow. I squirted them on an acetate sheet and spritzed it with a bit of water.

Then, I placed the solid circle background from  Whole Lotta Dots in it and stamped onto the white cardstock. I punched a circle from the background that this created. On top of it, I layered images from Arrows n'  Elements. I finished everything off with some enamel dots and washi tape from Freckled Fawn.

So, those are my cards. I really enjoyed using the stamps and combining sets as I made them.
