Eathquake, Hurricane and October Afternoon

What a crazy week it's been. First, we had an earthquake. Now we are preparing for the biggest hurricane to arrive in a LONG time. I thought Delaware was a safe place, weather wise. Ugh.

I thought I'd share a couple of October Afternoon projects that I've done recently. I recently got the July Scrapbook Nook kit which featured Five and Dime. It was fun breaking it out and creating!

This first page is about Ryan and my friend's daughters. They've known each other since they were born.

We recently visited them and I got these shots of the three of them. They are as busy as we are, so we don't see them as often as we'd like, but when they get together it's like time hasn't passed at all. I love that about true friendship!

I used some cute Maya Road canvas banner pieces to make the title.

My next project is a card that I did using the sketch from Emma's this month. Can you tell I love these big, bold flowers?

Well, wish me luck as we head into this weekend. Maybe the hurricane will blow out to sea?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

  1. Love the October Afternoon l/o - a classic. Strange week indeed - we had a earth tremor here too - happened while I was scrapping! Spent lots of time in the DelMarVa area as a child - so beautiful. Holding good thoughts for you as this weather passes.

  2. You rocked this collection, what a fabulous layout and card! I'm really loving those fussy cut flowers. And I'm keeping all my limbs crossed for you that the hurricane won't cause any damage. I'll be thinking of you!

  3. A-dorable LO and sweet card, Anabelle! I KNOW ... we live 2 hours from the east coast in NC where Irene is set to make landfall, so we're bracing for quite a storm over here. We 'weathered' Fran back in 1995 when she came directly over the central part of the state where we live with 95 MPH winds and 10" of rain -- mother nature can be wicked at times. BE SAFE, sweetie!!

  6. OMGoodness Anabelle, these are FANtastic! My jaw is on the floor. And as I said on the MB I'm so excited that you've joined the Nook. I've been a fan for a long time, and it's been really wonderful getting to know you and seeing your works of art in the gallery! It's great to have you around!

  7. Be safe Annabelle! Love the layout. My daughter is a bit further north (Portland, ME) but is on the path of Irene unless she tires herself out! Here's hoping!
